Capacitive touch panel and method for calculating coordinates of touch location

PURPOSE: A capacitive touch panel and a method thereof are provided to minimize the number of channels by configuring the touch panel into a rectangular or a rectangular bar pattern. CONSTITUTION: First touch pattern groups(300,302,304,306) are composed of touch patterns which output signals through a different number of channels which are larger than 'n'. Second touch pattern groups(310,312,314) are located in between a row or column. The first touch pattern groups are composed of the n rectangular touch pattern. The second touch pattern groups have a rectangular bar shape.
