Modular design of locally ordered tetrahedral structures: II. Their generalization for amorphous elementary semiconductors of the (8 − N) type and metallic glasses
2012
The possibility of applying the previously proposed structural model of a local ordered region from noncrystalline modules of tetrahedral materials to obtain limited ordered structures in amorphous metals and amorphous elementary semiconductors of the (8 − N) type, with conservation of their structural invariants formed by strong bonds (corrugated surfaces of hexacycles in arsenic and antimony and zigzag chains and six- and eight-membered cycles in selenium and tellurium), is shown.
