Measurement of the spark probability in single gap parallel plate chambers

Abstract We present results on the measurements of the spark probability with CO 2 and CF 4 /CO 2 (80/20) mixture, at atmospheric pressure, using 1.5 mm gas gap parallel plate chambers, working at a gas gain ranging from 4.5 × 10 2 to 3.3 × 10 4 .
