A receptacle (30, 102), adapted to be placed removably in a dispensing machine (110) including: a lid (34) adapted for movement between an open position which provides access to contents in the receptacle (30, 102), and a closed position which does not provide access to contents in the receptacle (30, 102); and means for storage (62) for storing information on the contents of said receptacle (30, 102); characterized in that the receptacle (30, 102) also includes: a communication means (164) enabling transfer of information between said storage means of information (62) and said dispensing machine (110), and wherein the holder (30, 102) is structured to be individually removable and insertable to the dispensing machine (110).
