RAVE - a modelling program for modal analysis; RAVE - Ein Modellierungstool fuer die Modellanalyse von Abgasanlagen

Vibrational characteristics are an important factor influencing the layout and suspension concept of automotive exhaust systems. In order to assist decision-making with regard to the layout during the concept and quotation phases, BMW and Zeuna Staerker have jointly developed the RAVE (RApid Vibration Evaluation) modelling tool that permits the rapid generation of a modular FE-based concept model of the exhaust system. The tool allows the generation and calculation of a large number of variants for hanger loads and comparative modal vibration analyses. (orig.) [German] Im Automobilbau sind die Schwingungseigenschaften ein wichtiger Einflussfaktor fuer die Auslegung und das Aufhaengungskonzept von Abgasanlagen. Um den Entscheidungsprozess bei der Auslegung der Anlage in den Konzept- und Angebotsphasen zu erleichtern, entwickelten BMW und Zeuna Staerker gemeinsam das Programm RAVE. Dieses Modellierungstool ermoeglicht es, innerhalb kuerzester Zeit ein modular aufgebautes, FE-basiertes Konzeptmodell der Abgasanlage zu erstellen. Damit lassen sich fuer eine Vielzahl verschiedener Varianten die Aufhaengekraefte berechnen und vergleichende Schwingungsanalysen durchfuehren. (orig.)
