Algunas reflexiones acerca de las traducciones al alemán de la obra lorquiana Bodas de sangre: Beck y Wittkopf

The aim of this chapter is to give a better insight into the German translation of Lorca's play Bodas de sangre. In particular the case of Heinrich Enrique Beck will be discussed, who, during decades, enjoyed the exclusive rights of translation of Lorca's works into German. The reviews which his translations received and the events that led to the fact that other translations like for example the translation of Bodas de sangre by Rudolf Wittkopf, could enter the market will also be examined. After throwing light on the translation difficulties of the play in question, the two translations into German will be compared both with each other and with the original version.
