진천수박 명품화를 위한 농가경영진단과 전략과제 발굴 -진천수박 산학연협력단을 중심으로-

This study diagnoses farm management skill of watermelon farms that are members of both Jincheon watermelon unit and Duksan watermelon unit in Jincheon county and extracts some strategic subjects to be taken by Jincheon Watermelon Industry-Academic-Research Cooperation Foundation (JWIARCF) inaugurated in 2009 for the improvement of farm income and market power of watermelon farms. For the study, 89 watermelon farms were surveyed and Friedman test, Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney U test were adopted to test statistical significance of surveyed results. The results show that both watermelon farming units have no big difference in cultivation skill, management skill, and modernization of equipment and machinery except several diagnostic elements, such as irrigation, quality certification, and budgeting. Watermelon farms demand the guidance with injury reduction of successive cropping, irrigation, control of diseases and pests, market place and quality certification. Statistical differences, however, were also found in some factors by farming experience and region. Important strategic subjects to be taken include market place, advertisement, equalization of cultivation skill, brand unification, etc.
