Wrapper for smoking article

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject article having a reduced sidestream smoke, providing a favorable taste by making the article include a cellulose base web, a filler and a specific amount of an organic acid. CONSTITUTION: This article comprises a cellulose base web, a filler and 0.5-12 wt.%, preferably 5 wt.% of an organic acid (e.g. succinic acid, malonic acid, etc.). Preferably calcium carbonate having ≥20 m 2 /g surface area is used as the filler and the amount of the filler packed is 30%. Preferably the article has 40-75 g/m 2 ream weight and 3-8 Coresta unit porosity. COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
