Apparatus for reducing standby power consumption

PURPOSE: A device for reducing standby power consumption is provided to prevent power consumption by blocking the standby power when various electric devices connected to the multi tap is in a standby state. CONSTITUTION: A multi-tap(10) includes at least one receptacle(11), a detector, a switching unit, and a control communication unit. The detector detects the conduction state from each receptacle to an electric device. The switching unit controls the power supply to each receptacle. The control communication unit transmits the conduction state detected by the detector to the outside and controls the switching unit according to the remote control signal of the switching unit. A remote controller(30) is separated from the multi tap and transmits the remote control signal for opening the switching unit to the control communication unit when the power is not supplied to the electric device based on the conduction state.
