Bioefficacy of λ-Cyhalothrin against Budworm (Hendecasis duplifascialis Hampson) on Jasmine

Efficacy of λ-cyhalothrin (Kungfu 2.5 EC) was studied against budworm, Hendecasis dupllfascialis Hampsoono jasmine and compared with recommended insecticide, monocrotophos. Three sprays of λ-cyhalothrin were given ai 15 days interval @ 10, 20, 30 and 40 g ai ha−1. Observations recorded on 0, 1, 3, 7 and 15 days after each spraying showed that the effectiveness was dose dependant. The effect of λ-cyhalothrin at 20 g ai ha−1 was significant and comparable with the standard check monocrotophos. Though the effect was dose dependent, considering the efficacy, λ-cyhalothrin at 20 g ai ha−1 could be used for the management of budworm in jasmine.
