Rheumatoid lymphedema: A case report

1993
A small proportion of patients with rheumatoid arthritis develop peripheral nonpitting edema that is not related to general factors such as anemia, hypoalbuminemia, fluid retention, or venous obstruction. Even though rheumatoid lymphedema is a rare complication of rheumatoid arthritis orjuvenile arthritis, it should be recognized by the treating surgeon. In our case, lymphedema did not compromise wound healing postoperatively.
