Quantum random number generation (QRNG) by phase diffusion process in a gain-switched semiconductor laser - new insights

A parametric study of QRNG employing phase diffusion in gain-switched DFB laser diode is presented. New theoretical findings on the maximal raw data rate and explanations on advantage of pulsed regime over cw are given. © 2019 The Author(s)
