Dsp Chip Set for Desktop Transcription Machines

1990
paper describes an Gi;ementation of a DSP-based chip for dictation and transcription machines. The DSP based chip set utilizes state-ofthe-art digital signal processing techniques to perform new advanced f eatures. These features are: high quality, natural sounding variable speed speech playback at rates of twice to half of the otiginal recording speed, improved quality and signal-tonoise ratio of noisy speech played back through the use of a noise reduction technique, and highly reliable and accurate voice activated recording using a speech specific vox algorithm.
