A USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE FOR VERSION 4 OF THE SES COMPUTER PROGRAM

1999
The Subway Environment Simulation (SES) computer program is used by ventilation engineers around the world as a tool for the design and analysis of tunnel ventilation systems. The program predicts airflows and temperatures during both normal operations and emergency ventilation of fires. The graphical user interface, SESIN, permits the user to view and enter SES input data using menu driven dialog boxes with tables, list boxes and other standard Windowa data entry features. This paper discusses and demonstrates the user friendliness of SESIN and its main advantages such as simple initial data entry, reduction of redundancy and typing errors, simple modification of data files and logical organization and presentation of data.
