On Northrop Frye's Myth-Archetypal Criticism

Northrop Frye's Myth-Archetypal criticism is based on our primitive human experience and aims at an overall understanding of the development of literary genre both synchronical and dichronical.Using structural models and archetypes abstracted from literary works,we can penetrate into the most intrisinc,primitive and touching spirit of human culture and can be closer to the nature of literature.The author of this paper surveyes Frye's theory and applies it to the analysis of some literary works,making some reasonable comments on Frye's theory.
