The Use of Non-Invasive Indicator to Detection of Anemia (Penggunaan Indikator Non-Invasif untuk Mendeteksi Anemia)

The purpose of the study was to examine non-invasive indicator of anemia on adult females. The study covered 225 respondents and who visited to mother and child care in Community Health Centre in Bogor area. Measure data collection included blood sample non-invasive indicators included symptoms: tirednees (res) and tiredness (active) and dizziness were collected by interview and signs: pale of the nail and palm of the hand were collected by observation. Data were collected by trained midwife. The results showed that prevalence of anemia among non-pregnant non-lactating women was high (36 percent) and higher among pregnant women (53 percent - 72 percent). Overall, there was not clear pattern between the percentage of responden with non-invasive indicator separately or combined and the prevalence of anemia based on hemoglobin level. Moreover, non-invasive indicator at hemoglobin level 10 g/dl, 11 g/dl and 12 g/dl was sensitive but less specific.
