Background The differential diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is particularly important because DLB patients respond better to cholinesterase inhibitors but sometimes exhibit sensitivity to neuroleptics, which may cause worsening of clinical status.
