The present invention provides a functionalized diolefin polymer preparation method, which comprises that a diolefin polymer containing at least a conjugated diolefin structure unit contacts a modifier, a stabilizer and an initiator in an inert atmosphere, such that the modifier is chemically bonded to the diolefin polymer through the contacting condition, wherein the average molecular weight of the diolefin polymer is 50000-1000000, the content of the conjugated diolefin structure unit having the double bond on the side chain is 15-85 wt% by adopting the weight of the conjugated diolefin structure unit as the reference, the modifier is at least one selected from mercaptosilane having a structure represented by a formula (I), a substance concurrently containing a mercapto group and a hydroxyl group in the molecule, and a substance concurrently containing a mercapto group and a carboxyl group, and the stabilizer is one or a plurality of materials selected from an arylamine type antioxidant, a hindered phenol type antioxidant and a phosphite antioxidant. According to the present invention, with the method, the conversion rate of the modifier is substantially and completely achieved, and the relation between the wet skid resistance and the rolling resistance can be effectively improved.
