Unnatural parity transition in (p,t) reaction

Analyzing powers for 208Pb(p,t)206Pb and 62Ni(p,t)60Ni reactions leading to unnatural parity 3+ states at 1.34 MeV (for 206Pb) and 2.63 MeV (for 60Ni) were measured at Ep=22.0 MeV. For the 208Pb(p,t)206Pb(3+) reaction, the cross section was fitted well by a two‐step (p,d,t) calculation, but the analyzing power was not so well. Effects of other reaction mechanisms, e.g. (p,p′,t) and (p,d*,t) processes, were estimated and found to be small.
