Acylated anthocyanins from petunia flowers

1999
Abstract Two acylated anthocyanins have been isolated from the petals of petunia ( Petunia hybrida Surfinia blue). Their complete structures were elucidated by means of homo- and heteronuclear two-dimensional NMR techniques to be malvidin 3- O - [6- O - (4- O - E -caffeoyl-a-rhamnopyranosyl)- β -glucopyranoside]-5- O - β -glucopyranoside and the new pigment malvidin 3- O - [6- O - (4- O - Z - p -coumaroyl-a-rhamnopyranosyl)- β -glucopyranoside]-5- O - β -glucopyranoside.
