Study of the Book The Study of The Dialects in Gansu Province

This paper studies the characteristics,especially in the style,of the book The Study of the Dialects in Gansu Province written by Mr.Li Gong.The author thinks this book has the following characteristics in explanation: first,it emphasizes the original form of a character;second,it lays stress on the study of the etymology of the words;third,it reveals the cultural implication of the words,which is very valuable;fourth,it quotes many literature references to infer the origins of the explanation of the words.
