A STUDY ON THE TIME-SPATIAL REVOLUTION CHARACTERISTICS OF SPATIAL LINKAGE AND ECONOMIC STRUCTURE IN YANGTZE RIVER DELTA

The flow of passenger and freight transport from 1985 to 2000 of every city in Yangtze River Delta is analyzed and so that the time-spatial revolution characteristics in this region are summarized. The flow of passenger distribution is representing such as a prominent corridor effect while the polarization effect of freight flow is weakening. Corridor economy is the growth axes of regional development. In Yangtze River Delta, economy of northeastern Zhejiang is prosperous, and catches up with southern Jiangsu gradually. These two are important economic blocks in Yangtze River Delta. From this, the economic balance in this delta is incline southing. Based on these characteristics, transport network should be constructed as soon as possible in Yangtze River Delta; also the corridor economy with powerful diffusion force should be fostered. All these policies will promote the cooperation between administrative regions and realize integrated regional economy.
