Duplicate Diagnostic Evaluations Among Interfacility Emergency Department Transfers

Background Interfacility emergency department transfers of children can result in additional diagnostic evaluation. Testing after transfer may be unique or duplicate. Duplicate testing can expose children to pain, excess radiation, and higher costs.
