Prática extensionista em museus universitários: a trajetória do Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade Federal do Paraná (MAE-UFPR)

The Archeology and Ethnology Museum of the Federal University of Parana is the first university museum both of this university and the state of Parana. In this text, we describe MAE-UFPR’s history, mostly focusing on its extension practices. During its first decades of existence, the museum worked with a comprehension of its social role based on externalization and diffusion of knowledge.  Throughout the last years, and in accordancewith transformations of museology itself and of the conception of extension activities in universities, dialogue became the central concept.
