Demonstration Design for Unexploded Ordnance Detection Technology: The Needs of the User and Technical Communities

1998
Abstract : This report describes the general magnitude of potential contamination of DoD lands by Unexploded Ordnance. It describes the generic procedural and technical processes used by DOD to clear land under its control during peacetime in the United States prior to conversion to alternative uses within DoD or transfer to other government agencies, educational institutions, or the private sector. It identifies technical needs and requirements for improved UXO detection. It outlines a set of test procedures and data analysis criteria that would aid DOD Program Managers in assessing the performance of prototype or technology demonstration UXO detection systems.
