14414 - Avaliação da emergência de plântulas de pepininho-silvestre (Melothria cucumis Vell. Cucurbitaceae) sob diferentes substratos Evaluation of seedling emergence of wild-cucumber (Melothria cucumis Vell. Cucurbitaceae) in different substrates

2013
The wild-cucumber (Melothria Cucumis Vell.) is an unconventional food specie, with potential for cultivation and commercialization. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of the four different substrates on seedling emergence of wild-cucumber. The experiment was conducted at the College of Agronomy - UFRGS. The experimental design was a completely randomized, with four treatments and four replicates of 25 cells. The treatments were four different substrates: GerminaPlant ® ; GerminaPlant ® + peel of rice charred; peel of rice charred and Carolina Soil ® . The following parameters were studied: emergence percentage, number of seedling emerged, number of definitive leaves, number of leaves, foliar area, shoot height, root dry matter, stem dry matter e leaf dry mass. There was significant difference for the emergence percentage. The best results were obtained on Carolina Soil ® substrate.
