Peritoneal clearance of urea and potassium and protein removal during acute peritonitis in dogs

1970
Abstract Chemical or bacterial peritonitis was induced in dogs; peritoneal clearances of urea and potassium and the amount of protein removed were determined. Neither acute bacterial peritonitis nor acute chemical peritonitis caused alteration in peritoneal urea or potassium transfer rates. When peritonitis was present there was a slight increase in the amount of protein removed in the dialysate.
