POLLEN INFLUX IN PEAT DEPOSITS: VALUES FROM RAISED BOGS IN THE SOMERSET LEVELS, SOUTH-WESTERN ENGLAND

1979
Summary Pollen influx data from the Flandrian peat deposits of the Somerset Levels, south-western England, are compared with other pollen influx data for peat and lake deposits. Peat deposits are found to have a much smaller annual recruitment of pollen than lake sediments. This difference is attributed to the absence of pollen contributed by inwash or stream inflow into a peat, particularly a raised bog peat, deposit.
