Discuss the Four Factors and Four Terapeutic of Pathogenesis of Coronary Heart Disease in TCM

Based on the author's clinical experiences and research findings of more than 30 years in the treatment of cardiovascular disease,the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease in TCM was highly summarized as four factors:deficiency,depression,blood stasis and phlegm,which provided an important theoretical basis for treatment based on syndrome differentiation.And accordingly four therapeutic principles were put forward as tonifying deficiency,depression-relief,promoting blood circulation and dispelling phlegm,which had the significance of guiding clinical treatment.In general,the key of clinical treatment was "dredging" with precondition of "warming",tonifying deficiency must emphasize on warming meridian and dredging yang with cassia twig;Regulating qi-flowing must emphasize on warming the meridian to dissipate cold,in that case cold-natured medicines should be used in extreme caution;Also dispelling phlegm should be achieved in a mild way with indispensable medicine-Chenxia;Heavy prescription was necessary for promoting blood circulation to obtain better effects.All above was the sound strategy for clinical treatment and we should always follow this principal "If the disease is not too severe we should perform a radical cure,otherwise temporary solution should be taken,while in severity and emergency both methods should be used to get the root cause to balance of Yin and Yang."
