Rechnergestützte Kurzzeitwärmebehandlung auf neuartigen Rollenherdanlagen am Beispiel von Wälzlagerbauteilen

The duration of standard hardening processes is often opposed to an integration of the heat treatment operation into manufacturing. In addition, buffers before and after the different process steps lead to an increased amount of work in process. The objective of this investigation was to develop and implement a novel process and equipment concept. Based on standard roller hearth furnaces a computer assisted short-cycle hardening process was realized, which enables the integration into the manufacturing flow and which is very flexible. Both the product quality and the total manufacturing cost are not affected in a negative way.
