Abstract: Characteristics of Students’ Metacognition based on Personality Type in Solving Mathe­matical Problems. The purpose of this explorative study was to find out the characteristics of students’ metacognition of guardian , rational , artisan and idealist types in dealing with mathematical problems. Four Year-11 subjects of a senior high school were involved in the study, one representing guardian type, one rational type, one artisan type, and one idealist type. The results showed that various characteristic types of students’ metacognition in guardian , rational , artisan and idealist were differently utilized in dealing with mathematical problems. Keywords : metacognition, personality type, mathematic problem Abstrak: Karakteristik Metakognisi Siswa Ditinjau dari Tipe Kepribadian dalam Memecahkan Masalah Matematika . Artikel hasil penelitian ini memaparkan karakteristik metakognisi siswa dalam memecahkan permasalahan matematika berdasarkan empat tipe kepribadian, yaitu guardian , rational , artisan , dan idealist . Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif eksploratif, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri atas satu siswa untuk setiap tipe kepribadian, yaitu siswa kelas sebelas SMA. Hasil penelitian meng­ungkap bahwa terdapat perbedaan karakteristik metakognisi siswa dalam memecahkan masalah mate­matika berdasarkan kate­gori tipe kepribadian. Kata kunci : metakognisi, tipe kepribadian, masalah matematika
