Boundary element analysis of the electrostatic interactions between organic scaffolds and transmembrane proteins

2010
This paper investigates the electrostatic interactions between organic scaffolds and the transmembrane proteins involved in cell adhesion. The analysis is performed through the solution of the linearized Poisson-Boltzmann equation by means of the Boundary Element Method. The electrostatic energy is evaluated varying the relative position of the interacting molecules and the properties of the solvent.
