The effect of the oxophilic Tb(III) cation on CON bond homolysis in alkoxyamines

Abstract Recently, we reported on the activation of the C ON bond homolysis in alkoxyamines R 1 R 2 NOR 3 using the coordination of the alkyl fragment R 3 with metal cations Cu(II) and Zn(II). Here, we report the selective coordination of the diethylphosphoryl group carried by the nitroxyl fragment by the oxophilic metal cation Tb(III). Coordination on the nitroxyl fragment afford a slight 2-fold decrease in the C ON bond homolysis rate constant k d .
