An Efficient Android Based Fall Detection and Rescue System

: The situations of fall can be hazardous for elderly people with fitness problems. This fact has highlighted the need of fall detection systems. The existing method does not utilize the gyroscope data. It only uses the accelerometer data for detection. The fall detection system can utilize the data which are collected from both accelerometers and gyroscope in smartphone. These data are analyzed to detect falls and utilizes the cloud service to store fall status and location. These fall events are informed to pre-specified caretaker by audio message and SMS. The cloud integration allows to greatly minimize the operation overhead. Fall detection system to detect a fall situation followed by sending notifications to caretakers can be done in real-time effectively without generating false alarms and provides better sensitivity and specificity to detect the falls.
