Support column on a vehicle body frame of a bus, with each having at least a body element is connected at opposite ends and an extending between the two ends of the hollow profile member (2), characterized in that the hollow profile element (2) is in one piece and has a longitudinal central axis, which is curved or has at least two non-parallel sections and that connect to the opposite ends of outer column sections between which a middle pillar portion is provided, which has in at least one direction of stress over a larger moment of resistance against bending than the outer column sections, wherein the hollow profile element (2) in the region of the central column section has a S-lay or two kinks.
