The effect of back massage EPRO method on blood pressure in hypertension patients.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to see of the back massage EPRO (Effleurage Pressure Rotation) method on blood pressure in hypertension patients. METHOD This is a quantitative quazi experiment design study using a pre and post test design without control design to provide Back Massage EPRO Method for respondents who use mild hypertension, then used T-test analyze to see the combination of back massage EPRO method to the risk of hypertension and then described according to the results obtained. RESULTS There was a significant difference in systolic blood pressure after back massage with a p value<0.05 (p=0.014), the average difference in post and pre intervention was -1.20, while the average systolic blood pressure before intervention was 125.2 and after the intervention was 124.0. There is also a significant difference in diastolic blood pressure after back massage with a p value<0.05 (p=0.00), the average difference in post and pre-intervention was -6.60. The average diastolic blood pressure before intervention was 91.0 and after the intervention was 84.4. CONCLUSION Back Massage EPRO method is very influential on reducing blood pressure in both systole and diastole.
