The features of the Pregolskaya TPP as an important component of the Kaliningrad energy system are considered. The distinctive features of the Pregolskaya TPP from the Mayakovskaya and Talakhovskaya TPPs are stated, consisting in the fact that this station being a combined cycle power plant and has a wider range of functions. On the one hand, this provides wider opportunities for the use of this TPP, since it can generate not only electrical load, but also heat. At the same time, the range of operating loads for the power units of the Pregolskaya TPP is almost 2 times less than for the Mayakovskaya and Talakhovskaya TPPs.
