Charge distributions from K−p interactions at 8.25 GeV/c

1977
The charge distributions, the charge exchange and the charge transfer of K−p interactions at 8.25 GeV/c are studied as functions of the reduced longitudinal momentumx, of the rapidityy and of the multiplicity of the final state. The results are compared with the data at other energies and with the predictions of various models. It was found that the dQ/dx distributions reveal some of the processes involved in the interaction and that the data are consistent with the assumption of independent production of centrally produced neutral clusters and of leading (charged) clusters.
