Different Impacts of Positive Error and Negative Error of Wind Power Forecasting on Power System Economical Operation

2019
Positive error and negative error of wind power forecasting have different impacts on power system reliability and efficiency that should be treated individually. However, current error evaluation indexes are all from the viewpoint of average and absolute value of forecast errors that cannot reflect the impacts of different error symbols. Based on the definition of positive error and negative error of wind power forecasting, the different impacts of those two error indexes on power system economical operation are analyzed in detail in this paper. Also, the calculation method of different impacts of wind power forecasting positive error and negative error on power system is proposed and proved by an experimental example.
