Newborn screening for critical congenital heart disease: is it time to change the algorithm?

Introduction The most commonly used algorithm for newborn screening for critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) is the one endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). However, the impact and feasibility of this algorithm has been questioned.
