Stabilization of the antenna array pattern maximum in phase synthesis of the pattern nulls

Methods for the phase synthesis of antenna array pattern nulls in the interference directions, which protect a useful signal from suppression, are considered. The synthesis problem is reduced to minimization of a positive semidefinite functional with respect to phases of excitations of the array elements. Different variants of this functional are considered, and fast iterative monotonically converging algorithms for its minimization are proposed. A comparative numerical investigation of the proposed algorithms is carried out for the case of nulling a linear antenna pattern in the domain of the first sidelobe and the slope of the main lobe.
