Cecile M. Pickart (1954–2006)

Cecile M. Pickart, Ph.D., Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, died of kidney cancer on April 5, 2006, in Baltimore, at the age of 51. On this very sad day, the ubiquitin-proteasome field lost a true pioneer and talent, the scientific community lost a beloved leader and colleague, and the world lost a remarkable human being.
