Depolarization of fast neutrons by Mott-Schwinger scattering from collimator walls

Abstract Small angle scattering of fast neutrons from the walls of collimators yield changes in the neutrons polarization by Mott-Schwinger scattering. The influence of this depolarization on the collimated neutron beam is calculated by a direct Monte Carlo method and is found to be small.
