Abordaje psicoterapéutico de la afectividad en los trastornos afectivos o neuróticos

2009
Presents a study of brief psychotherapy on patients with affective or neurotic disorder. In order to gain useful psychotherapy tools, where limited time is major handicap, we want to demonstrate that psychopharmacological treatment together an early approach to affectivity results in more effective treatment. We included 24 patients, using the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scales. The statistical analysis included descriptive and non-parametric Wilcoxon test. Statistical significance was observed (p < 0.0005) to quantify the difference before and after psychotherapy. The pre-treatment median for anxiety was 35 (27.25, 38.75), and post-treatment 8 (4.00, 15.50), for depression, the pre-treatment median was 24 (24, 29.75) and post-treatment 7 (3.00; 9.25). This confirms that the combination of psicofarmacotherapy and psychotherapy is effective in affective and neurotic disorders treatment, showing clinically and statistically significant improvement in both anxiety and depressive symptoms after only 4-5 treatment sessions.
