Extraction of mitochondrial DNA from cytoplasmic male sterile and maintainer lines of tuber mustard (Brassica juncea var. tumida Tsen et Lee).

Mitochondrial(mt)DNA has been extracted from paired lines of cytoplasmic male sterile and maintainer lines of tuber mustard based on sucrose shelf.Evaluation of mtDNA by agrose gel electrophoresis showed the good quality DNA which can meet the need of the following research work: the mtDNA samples prepared for tuber mustard were ready to be used as templates for polymerase chain reaction (PCR)and random ampliphied polymorphic DNA (RAPD).
