Tribologische Modellprüfungen mit Weichen- und Spurkranzschmierstoffen

The publication shows valid use values for application of lubricants for switches and wheel flanges, new ways will described for tribological test and results carried out tests are figured and explained. A sliding friction test machine with plane - parallel surfaces was used for investigation of switch - lubricants. With a special testing modus simulated lack of lubricants it is possible to evaluate serviceability of the lubricants for the specified application with excellent repeatability. The tribological model for investigation of lubricants for wheel flanges haue to enable Hertzian-pressure and sliding motion above all. With a modified one-hour-test an an Almen-Wieland-testing machine became obtained repeatable assertions to the boundery friction behaviour and the duration of the lubricanting effect of the adhesive coat an the one hand and an the other band a good differentiability for application of the lubricants was shown.
