Total catalytic oxidation of methanol on Au/Fe2O3 catalysts

The heterogeneous catalytic oxidation of methanol on Au/Fe 2 O 3 catalysts in the temperature range 50-300 °C has been studied. A high activity of the catalyst with respect to the complete oxidation of methanol to carbon dioxide has been observed. The degree of conversion is higher than 50% at 100 °C and almost 100% at 150 °C.
