Measurement of the spin-electron correlation coefficient in the decay of polarized neutrons and determination of the G/sub A//G/sub V/ ratio

The results of measurements of the correlation coefficient A characterizing the correlation of neutron spin and electron momentum in the decay of polarized neutrons are described in detail. The work was carried out during the years 1969--1976. As a result of two series of measurements a value of the correlation coefficient A=-0.114 +- 0.005 was obtained, which implies a ratio ..gamma..=G/sub A//G/sub V/=-1.261 +- 0.012.
