Implementation of the error coded affine projection algorithm in the DSP TMS320C6713

This paper presents the implementation of a digital adaptive filter in the digital signal processor TMS320C6713, using a variant of the Affine Projection Algorithm. The modification is based on codifying the error of the algorithm in order to reduce computational complexity. The Error Coded Affine Projection Algorithm (ECAPA) was implemented in a noise canceller structure and a channel equalizer. Also, a threshold established to update the filter coefficients is tested. Results demonstrate that the computational complexity and computational load are greatly reduced.
