Religion as education

2016 
The aim of the article was to analyze the relations between education and religion from an anthropological and epistemological perspective. It starts from the premise that religion can be assimilated as an educational process through a set of knowledge that is propagated and learned by individuals, forming their identities. Through the contributions arising from studies on education combined with anthropology and cultural history, we analyze the connection between education and culture. We consider some research studies that view education within the horizon of religion and point out the epistemological challenges to rethink education and research within the convergence of education, culture and religion. Methodologically, this is the result of a theoretical and bibliographic research based on experiences that discuss education in religious spaces with the purpose of reconsidering the epistemic status of the propositions.
